Community Unit School District #100 offers a comprehensive curriculum with high
expectations for all students. The goal of the curriculum is to
provide a meaningful, challenging, and successful learning experience for all
students. Teams of District teachers created subject area curriculum maps
as a way to align District curriculum to the Illinois Learning Standards.
Each map reflects when the concept or content is introduced, at what level it is
mastered, and if it is reinforced. By focusing on the essential part of
the curriculum, the teachers aligned the core of their curriculum to the
Illinois Learning Standards. These standards are the
basis for the state testing for ISAT, PSAE, ACCESS and other such assessments.
The curriculum maps represent the core of what
each student will master prior to graduation. At the high school
level, the maps are designed to reflect 80% of the curriculum taught. In addition, for grade 9, the biology, world studies,
English 9, and algebra maps reflect the core curriculum for the HOUSE.
The list of curriculum maps will be updated as new
courses are developed.
