Congratulations to Belvidere High School student Kaci Young for her artistic efforts in creating a wilderness-themed piece for the 2012 Illinois Youth Art Month flag.
Kaci's color pencil piece was created in Mrs. Reints' Art 2 class and is one of eleven chosen out of hundreds for the flag. Pieces were selected based on scoring in the following categories: (1) Relevance to the theme; (2) skill of artwork; and (3) aesthetic appeal. Kaci's artwork will not only be the subject of the Illinois Youth Art Month poster in March but also on a flag represented at the National Art Education Association Conference in New York.
