 Safety in Schools

In light of the tragic events that occurred Friday at an elementary school in Connecticut, we want to take a moment to emphasize that our highest priority is the safety and security of our students and staff.
With safety procedures and a crisis plan in place, we will continue to be vigilant when it comes to securing all access doors, monitoring student release, and requiring visitor check in at all buildings.  We regularly work with the city and county police on safety and security measures and officers will maintain a heightened presence in and around our schools.  Counselors are available in every school for all students.
In addition to SchoolMessenger, the district uses social media such as Facebook and Twitter, its website, and text messaging to provide valuable information to families.  Please take a moment to make sure your contact information is current and provide your child’s school with any changes in your address, telephone number, or email address.
We encourage you to contact your building principal with any questions you have regarding safety measures in your child's school.
Thank you.
