Dear Belvidere Community

I am excited to be part of the culture and community of the Belvidere School District.

I was fortunate to join the district in April, 2016 in advance of my planned start date, and spent my first two months meeting with parents, staff, students, and community members asking three important questions:

1.  What do you think are the district's strengths and weaknesses?
2.  What do the schools do for you, your family, or your organization?
3.  What are your hopes for the district over the next five years?

These conversations will help guide the district as we begin to map out our future.  I appreciate all who participated and encourage others to join in the conversation as it continues into the next school year.

I also spent time riding busses before and after school, teaching in the classroom, helping in the cafeteria, shadowing teachers and custodians, and in general meeting and appreciating all who help make the district run smoothly.  I learned quickly that the Belvidere School District has a dedicated staff, caring parents, engaged students, well-maintained buildings, and a proud community looking for ways to become involved.

Please take a moment to share a celebration, suggestion, or complaint through the district Suggestion Box, read our parent newsletter, become a fan on Facebook, follow us on Twitter, and browse our website to learn more about the Belvidere School District

I look forward to meeting you, if I haven't already, and working with you to engage and empower our community.
