BELVIDERE — The District 100 Foundation for Excellence in Education recently awarded $20,483 in grants for the 2019-20 school year.

The foundation supports programs that are not part of the district’s regular operating budget. Selection criteria include: innovative design of the program; number and diversity of students to benefit from the program; and positive, continuing benefits of the program.

Five grants totaling $5,160 were privately funded by Jim and Carol Cox, Ollmann Ernest Martin Architects, the Koteles McDonald Organization of Belvidere and John and Cindy Maville in memory of Arnold and Dorothy Maville.

Eligible applicants include District 100 and local community organizations.
