Purpose of the PVO...

To provide assistance to our BSMS teachers and staff; to involve parents in their children’s education; and to promote goodwill between the staff and families of BSMS.

How to volunteer...

  • A Parent Volunteer form will be included with your student’s registration packet in the summer registration mailing.  Complete the form and return it with your student’s registration.
  • Look for the PVO table at OPEN HOUSE in the fall.
  • Let your student’s home room teacher know you want to be a Parent Volunteer.
  • Write a note to the office staff indicating you wish to participate as a Parent Volunteer.
  • Email (COMING SOON!) to indicate your interest in being a Parent Volunteer.

What you will be doing...

You will be called to assist according to the interests you checked on the form you submitted and according to the team to which your student is assigned. 

School wide activities you may desire to participate in are 
 
  Renaissance
  Picture Day
  School-wide Fundraisers
  Penny Drive
  Teacher Appreciation Week
  Band uniform distribution and collection
  Band concert assistance

  Field Trips
  Fundraisers
  Science Lab assistance
  Changing the Display Case
  Newsletters
  Tutoring
  Bilingual assistance

After school
activities to be involved in are
 
  Homework club
  Special Clubs (chess, etc)
  Drama, Book Fair
  Student Council activities

Other
help could include
 
  Being a District or school committee member
  Working for a referendum on an election year
  Chaperoning
