Saturday, March 8, 2008 was the Regional Competition of Science Olympiad at Rock Valley College in Rockford, IL. Belvidere South students took 1st place overall in the competition and now advance to the State Competition in April at the University of Illinois in Champaign, IL. Students participated in such events as Balloon Launch Glider, Wheeled Vehicle, Heredity, Road Scholar, and many more. At the State level four more events will be added to the competition. 	BSMS Science Olympiad Team Takes 4 Medals at State Tournament
	Saturday April 26, 2008 was the State Competition at the University of Illinois in Champaign, IL. Belvidere South students competed with 39 other Illinois middles school, and placed in 4 events. Medals were awarded for Science Crime Busters, Amphibians and Reptiles, Meteorology and Trajectory.
