RECOVERY MATHEMATICS

Welcome To BSMS Staff Handbook School Report Card PVO

Recovery Mathematics, also known as the Math Assistance Program (MAP), is a new program at BSMS that is designed to help struggling math students develop the conceptual understanding and skills they need to succeed in math class and beyond.  For students who are chosen to participate, this class is a great opportunity to get more individualized help in math!

Hi!  That's me, Miss Stewart,

Frequently Asked Questions about Recovery Math...

Can I take an encore class at the same time?
Unfortunately, this class is held at the same time you would have your regular encore class. Therefore, it is not possible to have encore and MAP. However, I believe that success in your core classes will make you feel better about school altogether!

How did I get chosen for Recovery Math?
Teacher recommendations and ISAT scores are currently the two most common ways that students are chosen for this program.

How do I get out of Recovery Math?
To exit the program, your regular math teacher, Miss Stewart, you, and your parents must come to an agreement that you no longer need the assistance of Recovery Math to be a successful math student. However, remember that you are catching up for what could be years of confusion in math class. This is going to take some time.
