Resource is a modified curriculum of all or some core classes
depending on students' needs. This modification is met
through co-taught instruction and in some individual cases,
direct instruction. The Resource teacher assists the
regular education teacher in the planning and instruction of
children with learning disabilities. Tests are modified
and read orally to the children. Guided study is
provided daily for extra assistance in all core subjects.
Students are placed on a Resource caseload if they exhibit a
learning disability that adversely affects their educational
performance. This is determined through a team approach
that involves the psychologist, social worker, nurse, teachers
and parents.
