Emotionally Handicapped/Self Contained Classroom

Specialized Instruction is a modified curriculum of all the core subject areas. Students are placed in this program through a teacher or parent referral who have met the criteria for the diagnosis of emotionally handicapped. Children diagnosed as emotionally handicapped exhibit an affective disorder and/or adaptive behavior which significantly interferes with his or her learning and/or social functioning.
