School Board Shout Outs - February 2025
At our February Board meeting, the following D100 staff were nominated to receive a shout out:
- Janna Tuminaro & Kelly Kolodzik, Lincoln - When we had a new student start and discovered the family was in desperate need of basic need items such as warm clothing, blankets, food, etc., Janna and Kelly worked quickly to connect with outside resources and school and district resources to ensure the family had their basic needs met so our student could come to school and be ready to learn. They also connected the family with outside resources who will support the family in getting further assistance. Submitted by Beth Marchini
- Ashley Banks, Stephanie Cordray, & Natasha Gadomski, Washington Academy, Seth Whitman & South Middle School - Ashley, Stephanie, and Natasha do a fantastic job as District 100's SEL Leaders. They assist with vision, planning, data collection, and coordination with community organizations in order to support all of our students with their social-emotional growth. I truly enjoy working with them and they are top-notch educators who devote so much time and energy to support our students and staff. Submitted by Megan Johnson
- Heather Peterson, Central Middle School - I am really thankful for Mrs. Peterson for taking the time to keep kids engaged in before and afterschool clubs. Mrs. Peterson comes to school an hour early and stays an hour late to teach chess club. Not all the kids can make it to chess club after school so she makes sure to alternate the dates to make sure all kids can be included. Not to mention it's a year round club. Not only that, she is also involved in scholastics bowling, another great club that my kid loves! Mrs. Peterson and Mrs. Brewer have made my son feel welcomed at Central Middle School and help him develop a passion for afterschool activities. Submitted by Abby Orduno
- Yeimy Almaraz, Pilar Arellano, Susan Hagan, Jodi Medina, Maria Nungaray, Sandra Rivera, & Sandy Wilde, South Middle School - The lunch ladies at SMS are some of the kindest, most respectful people in the building, but sadly, some of the most under appreciated. From serving our lunches and breakfasts daily, to just simple being there to making sure everyone is fed. You all constantly put smiles on people's faces, and you always make people's days. We are so grateful to have you here every day, and no one can replace those awesome attitudes and smiles. Keep doing what you do every day and continue making people's days. You are awesome!
