Each spring the incoming fifth grade students get to visit their future school, and both students and parents are welcomed on Orientation night.
On the evening of April 23, Central Middle School opened its doors to incoming students and their parents. The evening started with a presentation highlighting procedures, expectations and classes. The current Peer Support and National Junior Honor Society students gave tours, and the Band room was open for students to ask questions and try out instruments. Here is the slide presention in case you missed the event: CMS 6th Grade Orientation
Over three days every spring, the 5th grade classes from the Seth Whitman, Caledonia and Lincoln Elementary spend a morning checking out their future school. The counselors have a presentation highlighting classes, activities and resources available to the students. Current CMS Peer Support and NJHS students then show them around the hallways and point out major areas of importance, like middle schools biggest challenge every August - how to open your locker!

Locker organization is an important middle school skill.
Both band and chorus put on a demonstration during the fifth grade visits.
