Early Entrance to Kindergarten
To be eligible for Kindergarten, a child must turn five years old on or before September 1st.
If the child is born after September 1st and the parent feels their child is an advanced learner, a parent can request that their child be screened for early entrance to Kindergarten. Early Entrance to Kindergarten is appropriate only for those students who demonstrate compelling evidence that they are both intellectually and socially advanced.
Fill out this form to request a screening. Requests are accepted until May 15th, with no exceptions after the deadline. If your request is accepted, you will be contacted by June 1st to schedule an appointment during the June Screening Session. Prior to the screening, a copy of the following are required: official birth certificate, proof of residency, and parent's ID.
